Choral Assessment of Individual Parts While working on a piece I want to assess part security and musical growth in the piece. I have the students record themselves on an electronic device while singing in quartets throughout the piece. Technique/Tone Enter description	Poor Singer has poor posture and has a breathy, non-supported tone with poor vocal placement	Fair Singer has some good qualities, but still struggles with consistent support of the tone and has bad posture.	Good Singer has good posture and has some support of the tone, but does not have consistent support.	Excellent Singer has correct posture and supports the tone evenly and consistently throughout.
Rhythms Enter description	Poor Singer sings notes at 70% or lower accuracy on rhythms.	Fair Singer sings notes at 80% or lower accuracy on rhythms.	Good Singer sings notes at 90% or lower accuracy on rhythms.	Excellent Singer sings correct rhythms at higher than 90% and is independent.
Pitches Enter description	Poor Singer sings notes at 70% or lower accuracy	Fair Singer sings notes at 80% or lower accuracy	Good Singer sings notes at 90% or lower accuracy	Excellent Singer sings notes at above 90% accuracy and shows strong part independence.
Musicality	Poor Singer displays poor execution of dynamics and phrasing. Singer puts in improper dynamics or has no dynamic changes.	Fair Singer uses some dynamic changes and phrasing marked in their score with some execution, but musical changes made by the director were executed.	Good Singer displays mostly proper dynamics and phrasing marked in the scores with some execution of changes made by the director.	Excellent Singer displays dynamics and phrasing with consistency and accuracy to the markings in the score and what the director has instructed otherwise.
