Parts of Speech Mini-Project

Students will teach the class about the following parts of speech: verbs, adverbs, prepositions, conjunction, and interjection by presenting a mini project of their choice.

Content	Exemplary Student demonstrated mastery of parts of speech: defining and explaining their selected part of speech in a creative method.	Proficient Students demonstrated proficient knowledge of the parts of speech, providing examples and explaining uses.	Developing Students demonstrated an incomplete knowledge of the parts of speech, which lacked examples and/or uses, or gave erroneous information.
Presentation Skills	Exemplary Student were well-rehearsed, used clear speaking voices, engaged the audience, and presented the materials with confidence in their knowledge.	Proficient Students displayed some signs of rehearsal, spoke clearly most of the time, and presented the material with some signs of confidence in their knowledge.	Developing Students demonstrated little rehearsal or confidence in their knowledge, giving a perfunctory presentation.
Creativity	Exemplary Student presented the material in a creative way, teaching an engaging and effective lesson.	Proficient Students demonstrated some creativity in their lesson.	Developing Students presented the material in a straightforward manner, demonstrating little or no creativity in teaching the lesson.
Written Explanatiion	Exemplary Student wrote a clear and complete explanation of his/her project. It is free of capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and grammar errors.	Proficient Student wrote an explanation of his/her project. Details are lacking. It is free of or has few capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and grammar errors.	Developing Student wrote an incomplete explanation of his/her project. It is significant capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and grammar errors.
Reflection	Exemplary Students wrote a meaningful reflection of their learning experience, explaining why it was beneficial for them.	Proficient Students wrote a somewhat meaningful reflection of their learning experience, explaining why it was beneficial for them.	Developing Students wrote a reflection which did not demonstrate any contemplation of their learning experience.
