Criteria

Tempo	Advanced Student maintained a steady tempo throughout.	Intermediate Student mostly maintained a steady tempo throughout with one or two hesitations.	Developing Student stopped playing at one point. -or- Student hesitated multiple times.	Beginner Student stopped playing multiple times. -or- Tempo was very inconsistent because of hesitations.
Walking bass	Advanced Student presented the bass line correctly with no rhythmic or melodic mistakes.	Intermediate Student presented the bass line correctly with a few minor rhythmic and/or melodic mistakes.	Developing Student presented the bass line with several rhythmic and/or melodic mistakes.	Beginner Student did not present the bass line.
Chords	Advanced All chords are presented correctly in the right order. Student used appropriate fingers and technique.	Intermediate All chords are presented correctly in the right order. Student had an occasional finger technique mistake.	Developing Some chords are presented correctly in the right order. -or- Student had frequent finger technique mistakes.	Beginner Student did not present chords.
Blues scale	Advanced Scale presented correctly with no mistakes.	Intermediate Scale presented with minor errors.	Developing Scale presented with several errors.	Beginner No scale presented.
