Stage Presence - 25 Points

25-21 Points

The student walks up confidently and remains confident throughout the performance. The student does not make comments or let us know she feel awkward with body language. The student projects her voice excellently.
20-16 Points

The student walks up confidently but strays from it a couple of times. The student may let us know that she feels awkward or talk while on stage. The student gives good projection.
15-11 Points

The student does not walk up confidently and show her nerves during the performance. She lets us know she feels awkward and talks while on stage. The student gives decent projection.
10-5 Points

The student walks up with no confidence and never picks herself up. She greatly shows that she feels awkward and either talks on stage or does not sing out at all.
Concert Etiquette - 25 Points

25-21 Points

The student displays proper concert etiquette by being respectful and quiet.
20-16 Points

The student displays good concert etiquette. The student may talk but it does not detract from the performance.
15-11 Points

The student displays decent concert etiquette. The student talks or goofs off enough to be slightly disruptive.
10-5 Points

The student displays poor concert etiquette. The student talk and goofs off enough to become a large disruption from the recital.
Note/Tuning Accuracy - 25 Points

25-21 Points

The student sings with excellent tuning and correct notes. An understanding of tuning is evident.
20-16 Points

The student sings with good tuning and correct notes. Some tuning issues occur but are quickly fixed. An understanding of tuning is evident.
15-11 Points

The student sings with decent tuning. Several tuning issues occur that are rarely recovered from. An understanding of tuning is questionable.
10-5 Points

The student sing with poor tuning. Countless tuning issues occur that are not recovered from. An understanding of tuning appears to be nonexistent.
Expression - 25 Points

25-21 Points

The student uses excellent expression in the face or body. The character and story of the song is made clear by the performance.
20-16 Points

The student uses good expression. the story and character of the song is evident most of the time. The student sometimes goes on autopilot.
15-11 Points

The student shows decent expression. There is not much of a character being created and the student seems disconnected.
10-5 Points

The student uses poor expression. The character in the song fails to be created and the student is singing on autopilot.
Diction - 25 Points

25-21 Points

The student uses excellent diction all the way through the song.
20-16 Points

The student uses good diction all the way through the song or start out strong and loses focus on diction.
15-11 Points

The student uses decent diction. Some words are clear and others are slurred or muffled.
10-5 Points

The student uses poor diction. Consonants are not there and the words all sound like they slur together.
Vocal Technique/Tone - 25 Points

25-21 Points

The student sings with the correct vocal technique and excellent tone. There is not tension in the throat or neck.
20-16 Points

The student sing with good vocal technique. The voice sounds strained at time but only on certain notes. The may be tension in the neck but it is quickly fixed.
15-11 Points

The student sing with good vocal technique and tone. The tone sounds breathy or strained and the neck is carrying tension that is rarely fixed.
10-5 Points

The student sings with poor vocal technique and tone. The tone is breathy or overdone and there is tension in the throat or neck that is not fixed.
