Good A topic sentence is not correctly placed or not a clear statement of the paragraph.	Fair Topic sentence is not correctly placed and not a clear statement of the paragraph.	Poor Topic sentence/main idea is not present in the paragraph.
Supporting Detail Sentences	Excellent Student provides at least two reasons on the value of predicting outcomes; both reasons given connect to the lesson.	Good Student provides at least one reason for the value of predicting outcomes that connects with the lesson.	Fair Student provides a reason for the value of predicting outcome but it is unclear how it connects to the lesson.	Poor Student does not complete the assignment
Format	Excellent Follows accepted standard formatting and is the requested length.	Good Follows most accepted formatting guidelines and is the appropriate length.	Fair Does not follow standard formatting guidelines and is under requested length.	Poor Does not follow standard formatting guidelines and is significantly under requested length.
