connection to course material	Poor No connections were made and/or if made are not clearly stated.	Fair very little direct connections are made, connections are unclear at times.	Good some direct connections were made and are clearly stated for the most part.	Excellent strong, direct connections and are clearly stated.
spelling/grammar	Poor has more than 3 misspellings and grammatical errors	Fair has some misspellings and grammatical errors but not more than 3.	Good has 1-2 misspellings, but no grammatical errors.	Excellent has no misspelling or grammatical errors.
effort/ quality	Poor no effort was put in. little quality of work.	Fair difficulty focusing most of the time. easily distracted by others.
