Novel charades/skit

Students will be grouped together and will be given a chapter to perform for the rest of the class. The audience will have to guess what chapter it is based on the dialogue and content.

Performance	Poor Couldn't hear the group or understand the group. They did not provide audience eye contact throughout the performance.	Fair Group could have been louder or could have been clearer when talking. Group did not memorize skit and relied on written skit.	Good Group was loud enough and spoke clear enough. They relied at least half of performance on scripts.	Excellent Group was loud and spoke clear enough. They also did not need scripts for the performance.
Content	Poor The group's content was not about the chapter/scene assigned. Skit was not believable/identifiable.	Fair Some of the group's content was about the chapter/scene they were assigned. They used very little information and dialogue/conversation that was used in the chapter. Only half of skit was identifiable.	Good Most of the group's content was about the chapter/scene they were assigned. They used most of the information and dialogue/conversation that was used in the chapter. Only two thirds of Skit was identifiable.	Excellent All of the group's content was about the chapter /scene they were assigned. They used information and dialogue/conversation that was used in the chapter. Skit was identifiable.
Group work	Poor It is obvious the group doesn't work well together.	Fair The group could work better together.	Good The group works well together.	Excellent The group works well together. They look like they are having fun together while they are working.
Time/Participation	Poor Students did not focus on a particular scene from novel therefore performance was not about a scene in the text.	Fair Students performance had some of the elements in scene as they were written in the novel.	Good Students performance had most of the elements in scene intact as they were written in novel.	Excellent Students performance had all elements of scene as written in novel intact.
Skit Write Up	Poor Skit was not turned in prior to performance.	Fair Skit was handwritten and turned in prior to performance.	Good	Excellent Skit was neatly Typed, and group turned in at least one copy before beginning presentation.
Individual Listening	Poor Student was a constant distraction throughout performances.	Fair Student was not able to sit quietly through half of their classmates performances. The student was a constant disruption.	Good Student sat quietly throughout two thirds of the class's performances.	Excellent Student sat respectfully throughout every group's performance.
