Special Plans for a Special Someone
Scholars will create a system of two equations that accurately models given situation. The equations for the systems must be written in Slope-Intercept Form. The systems must be solved algebraically, in table form and graphically. The system must be solved algebraically showing all work for full credit. Finally, the modeled system must explain the real world meaning of the solution, maximum cost and what makes the system a Special System for their special someone.

Good

Accurate answers are given for one system with appropriate work shown.
Fair

The solution of 1 system is incorrect or appropriate work is not shown.
Poor

The solution of both systems is incorrect or appropriate work is not shown.
Explanation

For each system, thoroughly explain what makes the system special. Be sure to discuss elements of the graph and the equations that contribute to the system being a special system.

Excellent

The response correctly defines what makes BOTH system special.
Good

The response correctly defines what makes ONE of the systems special.
Fair

The response does not correctly define what makes the systems special.

Good

Three or two errors in the table of values for the plan
Fair

Four or more errors in calculations in the table or value
Poor

No table of value to show the cost of the plan at differing values
Correctly labeled intersection

The price point where both plans will cost the same price must be labeled clearly in the table, in the equation and on the graph

Excellent

The solution point is clearly labeled in the table, in the algebra work and on the graph
