Thankful Turkey 
Students will create a "I am thankful" turkey. There needs to be four reasons for why the student is thankful. Each feather will contain a different sentence; there will be four feathers in total.

The turkey is missing feathers. All four feathers are not accounted for on the body of the turkey

The turkey contains all of its feathers and they are placed in an pleasing way. The head is attached to the body.

The student went about and beyond and added in a nose, a beak, and feet. All the feathers are neatly attached onto the turkey.

Not using complete sentences. Not using nicest/neatest handwriting. Not using correct sentence structure.

There are complete sentences with a few misspellings. The student shows that he/she understands correct sentence structure. The student is using good handwriting.

The sentences go beyond simple sentences; the student uses complex sentences to describe what he/she is thankful for. The student uses correct capitalization and punctuation throughout their sentences. The student clearly took his/hers time with writing neatly.

There is glue all of the turkey. The turkey is ripped. The feathers are falling off. The turkey has no eyes, beak or feet.

The glue is applied only to the specified areas and the turkey is neat.

The student added decorations of their own to personally decorate their turkey. The student shows his/hers own creative within their own turkey.
