Choir Singing Test - 9-12

Students will perform parts of songs worked on for the semester. Demonstrate accurate intonation and rhythm, fundamental skills, advanced technique, and a high degree of musicality. HS.IV.2PR Prepare and accurately perform a varied repertoire of ensemble music showing continuous individual improvement in performance ability well above the level of complexity found in the selected literature.

Rhythm/Tempo Students will perform a 16 measure section of each of the songs they have learned throughout the semester, keeping a steady tempo and singing with the correct rhythms as specified by the sheet music.	Advanced Student sings rhythms accurately with a steady beat and is able to sing along with the accompaniment at the correct tempo 76-100% of the selection(s).	Proficient Student sings rhythms accurately with a steady beat and is able to sing along with the accompaniment at the correct tempo 51-75% of the selection(s).	Basic Student sings rhythms accurately, sings with a steady beat and is able to sing along with the accompaniment at the correct tempo 26-50% of the selection(s).	Emerging Student sings rhythms accurately, sings with a steady beat and is able to sing along with the accompaniment at the correct tempo 1-25% of the selection(s).	Non-Participant Student did not attempt the test.
Diction/Memorization Student will perform a 16 measure section of each of the songs they have learned for the semester, enunciating the words and displaying accurate memorization of the song.	Advanced Student articulates the words clearly, the lyrics are fully memorized and easily understood 76-100% of the selection(s).	Proficient Student articulates the words clearly, the lyrics are fully memorized and easily understood 51-75% of the selection(s).	Basic Student articulates the words clearly, the lyrics are fully memorized and easily understood 26-50% of the selection(s).	Emerging Student articulates the words clearly, the lyrics are fully memorized and easily understood 1-25% of the selection(s).	Non-Participant Student did not attempt the exam
Tone Quality/Intonation/Projection Student will perform a 16 measure section of each of the songs they have learned for the semester, demonstrating a relaxed tone appropriate for the song (bright, dark, etc) and strong projection.	Advanced Student sings the correct pitches and demonstrates perfect intonation with good, clear, relaxed tone, projects and is easily heard 76-100% of the selection(s).	Proficient Student sings the correct pitches and demonstrates perfect intonation with good, clear, relaxed tone, projects and is easily heard 51-75% of the selection(s).
