Charcoal Portrait 
Create a portrait using the grid method to enlarge the portrait. Use charcoal to create values. Student will explore additive and subtractive methods of charcoal application to produce values.

Grid was drawn correctly to create accurate proportions.
Eyes, nose, and or mouth look slightly to large or to small compared to image/portrait. Overall portrait only needs minor corrections to proportions.
Exceeds Expectations

19-25 Points
Final drawing shows correct use of the grid method. Drawing looks exactly like image. Eyes, nose, and mouth are in proportion to each other and face.
Grid was drawn straight which is demonstrated by accurate proportions and angles.
