sol/mi/la (pitch matching) Echo sol/mi/la	Needs Improvement (N) Student refuses to attempt to echo basic sol/mi/la patterns and therefore DOES NOT SHOW ability to match pitch.	Satisfactory (S) Student attempts to echo basic sol/mi/la patterns, but only OCCASIONALLY matches discernable pitches.	Proficient (P) Student can echo basic sol/mi/la patterns and matches pitch MOST OF THE TIME.	Excellent (E) Student can echo basic sol/mi/la patterns and ALWAYS match pitch without question.
sol/mi/la (vocal tracking) quarter notes and rests, eighth notes in sets of 2 on the treble clef staff	Needs Improvement (N) Student DOES NOT sing or focus on reading sol/mi/la patterns and DOES NOT show any indication of understanding the concept of pitch in print.	Satisfactory (S) Student OCCASIONALLY sings and follows written sol/mi/la patterns demonstrating a very basic understanding of the concept of pitch in print.	Proficient (P) Student can sing and follow written sol/mi/la patterns MOST OF THE TIME and is able to demonstrate the concept of sol/mi/la and matching pitch.	Excellent (E) Student can ALWAYS sing and read sol/mi/la patterns accurately and ALWAYS match pitch.
