Authenticity of Task Valid assessment of a student learning outcome requires the student to directly perform a task that is authentic (real world) i.e. a real task that is necessary and performed by individuals in the given field of work or study	Accomplished Assessment task is fully authentic i.e. those who work or study in this field must be able to perform this task well AND student is asked to perform it directly	Building Assessment task is somewhat authentic i.e. those who work in this field may be asked to perform this task, OR student is only asked to perform it indirectly i.e. answer test questions about how to perform the task rather than perform it	Developing Assessment task is somewhat authentic i.e. those who work in this field may be asked to perform this task,AND student is only asked to perform it indirectly i.e. answer test questions about how to perform the task rather than perform it	Not Yet in Progress Assessment task is not authentic i.e. those who work in this field do not perform this task AND/OR students are taking a test or writing an essay in place of performing a relevant task
