Rhythms Students will identify, classify, produce, and perform rhythms through listening, body percussion and instrument playing.
	Developing 0 pts	Meeting 4 pts	Exceeding 6 pts
Identifying Notes and Values Students should recognize quarter, half, dotted-half, eighth, sixteenth and whole notes.	Developing Student cannot identify any notes and their values.	Meeting Student is able to identify some notes and their value.	Exceeding Student is able to identify all notes given and their values.
Identifying Note/Beat Patterns Students should be able to identify the note and beats in a given pattern.	Developing Student is unable to say how many counts/beats are in the pattern.	Meeting Student is able to identify some patterns and identify some of the counts/beats in the pattern.	Exceeding Student is able to identify all the patterns and counts independently.
Rhythm Performance Students are expected to perform rhythms using body percussion, the keyboard and classroom instruments.	Developing Student is unable to perform any rhythm using body percussion, a keyboard or classroom instruments.	Meeting Student is able to perform rhythms using body percussion, the keyboard or classroom instruments.	Exceeding Student is able to perform various rhythms without the teacher's help using body percussion, the keyboard or classroom instruments.
Treble Clef Notes Identification Students are expected to identify the letter names of notes on the Treble Clef Staff.	Developing Student cannot identify notes on the treble clef staff.	Meeting Student is able to identify notes on the treble clef staff.	Exceeding Student is able to identify all notes on the treble clef staff.
