RHYTHM / TEMPO	Superior Rhythms between ensemble members are cohesive and tempo is steady or, due to intentional innovation all performers are together	Good Rhythms and tempo are accurately performed	Fair Inaccuracies with rhythm or fluctuation of tempo distracts from performance	Poor Tempo is inconsistent and/or rhythms are not accurately played
NOTE ACCURACY	Superior Notes are accurate in all parts throughout entire performance	Good Almost all notes are accurate throughout performance	Fair Notes are correct in some parts	Poor Wrong notes distract from ensemble's performance
BALANCE/INTONATION	Superior Good blend and balance throughout; demonstrate understanding of each person's role to the whole sound	Good Blend, intonation, and balance good throughout most of the piece	Fair Balance of ensemble is sporadic-or some instruments are sometimes out of tune	Poor Some parts not audible, or too loud/ instruments are out of tune with each other
