MA2- Craniosacral Practical

Practical exam to demonstrate Craniosacral Therapy. Definition, Indications/Contraindications: 25% of grade (possible 25 points total). Demonstration/Explanation of student's choice of CV4 -or- Foot Technique, 50% of grade. Palpation of one Listening Station of choice, 25 % of grade (possible 75 points total ; 75% grade).

Definition of Craniosacral system 25 possible points.	Excellent Student clearly and confidently defines what the craniosacral system is. Identifies normal cycles per minute. Accurately lists 2 indications and 2 contraindications.	Good Adequate, but could be stronger in the knowledge of what craniosacral system is, normal cycles per minute, able to indentify 2 indications and 2 contraindications.	Fair Needs some coaching to strengthen knowledge of the craniosacral system, cycles per minute. Cannot fully identify 2 indications/ 2 contraindications.	Poor Needs much work to fully comprehend the craniosacral system and its cycles per minute. May need work completely identifying 2 indications / 2 contraindications.
Demonstration w/ explanation 75% grade (75 points, total). Student performs his/her choice of CV4 or Foot palpation and demonstrates 1 Listening Station of choice.

CV4 or Foot Technique 25 possible points.	Excellent Student properly places in hands on correct area of client's body with correct amt. of pressure and time.	Good Student demonstrates hand placement, but does so tentatively or in need of slight correction regarding timing/ pressure.	Fair Student demonstrates hand placement so that technique is just nearing adequate, adjustment necessary for proficency in technique. Pressure amt. / timing are off.	Poor Student needs profound correction in application of technique. Hand placement, degree of pressure, timing.
Explanation of Technique While demonstrating technique, student offers supporting information to describe what he/she feels during CV4 or Foot technique, what to observe in client to know still point is reached. 25 possible points.	Excellent Student explains what CV4 or Foot technique affects and properly identifies how he/she works with internal and external rotation to reach still point and what to look for to know still point has been reached.	Good Student adequately explains what CV4 or Foot technique affects and identifies how he/she works with internal and external rotation to reach a still point and what to observe in client to indicate still point has been reached. Overall, student needs to project more clarity and confidence.	Fair Student needs much strenghtening in ability to describe what CV4 or Foot technique affects and how internal and external rotation reaches a still point and what to observe from client to indicate still point has been reached. Student demonstrates weakness in these areas but demonstrates some ability.	Poor Student needs profound improvement in ability to indicate what CV4 or Foot technique affects, how to work with internal and external rotation and what to observe in client to indicate still point has been reached.
