Lead How effective is your opening sentence? Does it contain the necessary information?	Very Poor Lead is non-existent.	Poor Lead is very weak and contains little of the necessary information.	Fair Lead contains the necessary information, but is weakly composed or awkward.	Good Lead is well-written, engaging, and contains the basic information necessary. Clearly written.
Organization Does your article follow the inverted pyramid style?	Very Poor Article lacks any organizational structure. Information is not presented in a logical way.	Poor Organizational structure is very limited. Article is disjointed most of the time, but some of the information follows the inverted pyramid.	Fair The article shows the elements of a basic orginization. Information follows the inverted pyramid at a basic level.	Good The information follows a coherant inverted pyramid structure. It is organized by importance in a logical order.
Transitions/Language of Journalism How smooth is your shifting between information? Is there use of the Language of Journalism? (vocabulary and verbs?)
