Playing Correct Rhythms.	Developing Can start and stop a note.	Fair Plays more than half of the rhythms correctly.	Good Plays more than 3/4 of the exercise rhythms correctly.	Excellent Plays all of the rhythms correctly.
Participation/Effort in Class.	Developing Student is rarely focused and attentive throughout class. Sometimes disruptive to the rest of the class.	Fair Student is sometimes focused and attentive throughout class, but is easily distracted by others and sometimes distracts others.	Good Student is usually focused and attentive throughout class, but sometimes is distracted by others.	Excellent Student is focused and attentive throughout class and follows directions to the best of his/her ability.
Proper Technique.	Developing Correct technique is rarely used. Hits the drum with a little too much or not enough force. Incorrect technique greatly distracts from the quality of performance.	Fair Correct technique is sometimes used. Thumbs are not up, not pinching the stick and improper stick balancing.	Good Correct technique is usually used. Sticks are usually held correctly.
