Knowledge of Equipment	Poor The student required daily help with sewing machine and equipment. Student required many reminders on how to thread the machine, use the presser foot and/or wind bobbin.	Fair Student required help frequently with the sewing machine and equipment. Students needed reminders on how to thread bobbin, put down presser foot and/or wind bobbin.	Good Student required help some of the time with the sewing machine and equipment.	Excellent Student properly used the sewing machine and equipment daily and was a help to other students.
Directions Students are provided with a printed tutorial and verbal instructions w/demonstration	Poor Student did not read and follow directions and ignored skills demonstrated in class. Lining	Poor Lining did not properly fit the shell of the bag. Seams were not matched when sewing the bag. French seam is not sew properly.	Fair Lining does not fit the shell and the appropriate amount of fabric is not turned down. French seam in not properly sewn.	Good Lining fits the shell but the appropriate amount of fabric is not turned down and/or the width of the folded fabric is not consistent. French seam was properly sewn.	Excellent Lining properly fits the shell with the appropriate amount of fabric turned down. Seams were matched well and the french seam was properly sewn.
Inside Corners	Poor Inside corners are not sewn at all or are not completely sewn.	Fair Inside corners are sewn in the wrong direction. The outside shell has bunches or puckers as a result of the corner seam.	Good Inside corners are either sewn the wrong direction or incorrect length. Outside shell lays flat without puckers.	Excellent Inside corner seams are sewn properly with the correct length and at the correct angle.
Neatness	Poor Few threads have been snipped and finished bag is sloppy in appearance.	Fair Some of the loose threads have been snipped. Finished bag is mostly neat in appearance with some aesthetic issues.	Good Most of the loose threads have been snipped. Finished bag is neat in appearance.	Excellent All loose threads have been snipped. Finished bag is neat in appearance.
Cleanliness	Poor Student rarely had a clean work area and needed frequently reminders to clean up area or put up supplies.	Fair Student needed occasional reminders to clean up area and put away supplies.	Good Student very rarely required reminders on station cleanliness and regularly puts away his/her supplies.	Excellent Student kept are neat and organized. Student put away supplies at the conclusion of lab daily.
