Energy Project

Energy and Natural Resources. Students will be in groups and work together to define, describe, identify whether renewable/non-renewable, pros and cons, graphics, and works cited for their type of energy assigned. Types include: Solar, Wind, Biofuels, Hydropower, Geothermal, and Fossil Fuels.

Energy Types Project
	Poor 10 pts	Fair 15 pts	Good 25 pts
Definition	Poor Uses just the words to identify the energy type. No graphics present. No substance.	Fair Gives some indication of what energy type is. Does not use graphics to help illustrate.	Good Gives detail on what the energy type is. Uses graphics to help define and identify energy type.
Description	Poor Does not provide a description on how it works, is manufactured, transported, etc. May only identify whether it is renewable or non-renewable for its description or may not provide information at all.	Fair Description is vague. Doesn't give much detail on how the energy type works or how it is created. May not identify if it is renewable or non-renewable.	Good Describes how the energy type works, how it's manufactured, transported, converted, and whether it is renewable or non-renewable.
Pros and Cons	Poor May only give pros or cons.	Fair Gives pros and cons but not provide any explanation or rationale for each of them.	Good Provides adequate list of pros and cons and either in writing or verbally explains why they are each one.
Works Cited	Poor Only provides a list of URLs or book titles with no additional information.	Fair Attempt has been made to cite correctly but some information is missing.	Good Gives list of sources in correct AP format.
