Snare Rudiments Performance
	Level 5 10 pts	Level 4 8 pts	Level 3 6 pts	Level 2 4 pts	Level 1 2 pts
Basic Hand Position Standing with palms facing floor, first finger and thumb forming fulcrum with other fingers lightly touching stick. Sticks move up and down with wrist motion and very minimal arm.	Level 5 Playing position is correct and hand & finger position are correct to allow for good technical facility.	Level 4 Hand and finger position are good but the grip is too tight or loose for good stick/mallet control. Rolls may be uneven	Level 3 Playing position is good but there are minor errors in hand or finger position.	Level 2 Some effort is being made to hold the sticks/mallets correctly but performance is hindered because finger position is incorrect or sticks are not held at the balance point.	Level 1 No effort to follow hand position formation
Accurate Rhythm Rhythms and rolls are accurately counted with a steady beat.	Level 5 Steady pulse with accurate rhythms	Level 4 Pulse is fairly steady but there are frequent or repeated small rhythmic errors.	Level 3 Steady pulse with few rhythmic errors	Level 2 Pulse is unstable with major rhythmic errors.	Level 1 No accuracy of rhythms
Sticking Correct sticking is used for each rudiment as indicated.	Level 5 Students consistently demonstrates understanding of sticking as it applies to rudiments used.	Level 4 Students mostly demonstrates understanding of sticking as it applies to rudiments used.	Level 3 Students sometimes demonstrates understanding of sticking as it applies to rudiments used.	Level 2 Students rarely demonstrates understanding of sticking as it applies to rudiments used.	Level 1 Students never demonstrates understanding of sticking as it applies to rudiments used.
