Advanced Photography Semester Final
Rubric for assessing advanced photography students semester final. For the semester final, students were given five words of which they were to choose one to work with. They needed to complete two pieces that interpret their word choice. One piece needed to be no larger than 6 x 6", one needed to incorporate more than one process.

All project parameters met. Student followed criteria, some evidence of exceeding. Student used time well.
Fair
Some project parameters met. Student missed some check off deadlines. Criteria not fully followed. Some thought put into assignment.
Poor
Project parameters not met. Missed several deadlines. Very little thought put into assignment.
Craftsmanship
Excellent
Work shows exemplary craftsmanship. Finished pieces demonstrate careful and thoughtful work. Presentation enhances work. Work is ready for showing. Mastery of technical skills is evident.
Good
Work shows good command of technical skills. Craftsmanship is evident. Work is ready for showing. Thought went into presentation.
Fair
Work shows fair craftsmanship. Mastery of skills is not evident. Work needs more polish before being shown. Lack of thought around presentation.
Poor
Very poor craftsmanship. Sloppy work, lack of technical skills evident. Work unfit for showing.
Work Habits
Excellent
Journal shows exemplary research into concepts. Student focused exclusively on studio and research work during classtime. Student consistently moved forward with work. All deadlines were met.
Good
Journal shows thorough research. Student focused on studio and research work during classtime. Student is moving forward. Most deadlines were met.
Fair
Journal shows a lack of research. Student did not use time in class as well as expected. Some deadlines missed. Student work not moving forward.
Poor
Extreme lack of research in journal. Student missed too much class. Many deadlines missed. Student work stagnating.
