Student provides little or no factual information relating to the event or individual discussed; student provides false information.
Fair

Student provides an adequate definition, providing major information; however, the definition is partial, lacking some information.
Good

Student provides a well-written definition, covering all of the major information pertaning to the id.
Dates

Poor

Student fails to place an id within its correct era, providing either dates or incorrect dates.
Fair

Student places an event in its correct era, but may not include the exact year. (For example, students will receive partial credit for placing an event in the Progressive Era or for placing an event in the correct decade).
Good

Student correctly identifies the year or date in which an event occurs.
Significance

Poor

Student fails to provide a well-reasoned discussion of an event's importance to history, course themes, or the era being discussed. Student provides no discussion or significance or a false or ill-reasoned interpretation of an event's significance.
Fair

Student provides some discussion of an event's imporance to broader course themes or other figures and events within the period. However, student provides limited analysis with little or no supporting evidence.
Good

Student provides a well-reasoned analysis of an event or individual's significance to broader course themes or events in the period. Student provides significant evidence of how an id relates to other themes or ids.
