Memorization How well does the actor memorize lines?	Poor Actor does not memorize the monologue or lines from dialogue. Rehearsals Does the actor organize, collaborate and focus on the work/needs of rehearsals? Fair Rehearsals were not planned and communication was somewhat unclear, but actor was pretty much focused during rehearsals.	Good Rehearsals were planned, but actor was not always clear with communication (cast/peers/teacher) and was not focused 100% of the time, though mostly attended to the needs of rehearsal and worked hard. Perseverence/Effort How well does the actor participate collaboratively, ask for clarification, engage in work and persevere when challenged?	Poor Level of participation and collaboration is limited. Needs support to make effective use of time. Demonstrates limited engagement with subject matter. May need repeated reminders to follow classroom rules and procedures.	Fair Listens and participates cooperatively during discussions and practical drama work. Attends to work, engages with subject matter and perseveres with some support from teacher or peers. Follows classroom rules and procedures with minimal teacher support.	Good Participates actively in discussions and practical work, and engages with subject matter. Physical Characterization Does the actor use the body (including face) to aid in the development character intent and delivery of lines? (incl. stage business and habits)?	Poor Character is not different from self. Not believable. Breaks character, or no character created. No movement or habit choices are present.	Fair Character is slightly different from self. Movements show age and physical condition. Performance had character breaks. Movement choices are present but are not clear, consistent, or connected to the character. Appropriate adaptations are made for the character created.
Blocking How well does the actor avoid blocking him/herself or others?	Poor No effective blocking is used in the scene by the actor. The actor moves without reason and blocks self and others in the scene/s.	Fair Actor does not move on cue and lacks any sense of motivation for (reason for) movement.	Good Actor moves when intended, but the movement is not motivated (or done for a reason clear in the scene).	Excellent Actor moves when and where s/he is intended to with clear motivation (reason).
Staging/Composition How well does the actor/s create pleasing stage compositions/pictures?	Poor Actor/s does not organize to stage the piece, but rather creates the staging during rehearsals or at the last minute in performance. The blocking is not at all effective.	Fair Actor/s stages the piece without much thought to character objectives (motives), tactics or stage picture. The scene is chaotic but there is some evidence of blocking.	Good The actor/s stages the piece with some thought but the stage picture is sometimes muddled or ineffective.	Excellent Actor/s stages the piece effectively using the principles of blocking. Stage pictures are interesting to watch.
Overall Performance How well does the actor perform as a solo actor and/or within an ensemble, using all the techniques and tools available to the actor?	Poor Limited ensemble interaction. Props, costume, and/or set decoration not used as directed.	Fair Fair ensemble interaction. Some use of props, costume and set decoration.	Good Good ensemble interaction. Good use of props, costume and set decoration.	Excellent Excellent ensemble interaction. Excellent use of props, costume and set decoration.
