Shark Tank

Students are creating a project based on the TV Show 'Shark Tank'. Students will be utilizing technology, their prior knowledge, the unit lessons, and research to complete this project. This project also covers an array of Economics standards. They will be presenting their projects in front of a panel of "Sharks" just as in the show. This panel will be grading the projects based on the following rubric.

	Poor Students did not meet the criteria, or they did not present the material. 1 pts	Fair Students presented the criteria, but it was unprepared or off the cuff. There was no organization to the portion. 5 pts	Okay Students had some of the material prepared but did not meet the criteria to it's full extent. Also could be due to lack of effort or disorganization. 10 pts	Good Criteria was met, and seemed organized. There were some minor issues. 15 pts	Excellence All criteria was met. Well organized. Above and beyond. No minor issues. 20 pts
Collaboration How well did the group work together?	Poor No one was working together.	Fair One person seemed to have all of the responsibility.	Okay Not everyone was working together but the majority was.	Good Everyone had a task and knew what everyone else was supposed to do, but no one was checking in on missing students nor making sure the other students were understanding their roles.	Excellence Everyone worked in a positive way with one another. If someone was missing they filled them in on what had been done in class, and at no time was there someone without something to do or help with.
Business Plan There must be a paper version of the business plan to turn in prior to presenting.	Poor The business plan was not turned in.	Fair The business plan was not turned in prior to the presentation, or did not have the expected criteria.	Okay The business plan was not typed, was unorganized, was not turned in prior to the presentation, and/or had multiple errors.	Good The business plan was typed but was either unorganized, not turned in prior to the presentation, and/or had errors.	Excellence The business plan was typed, turned in prior to the presentation in a folder, had limited to no errors, and was done in a professional manner.
Type of Business Students chose a type of business and were to explain why and what it is. Also, must be included in the business plan.	Poor Students did not choose a type of business.	Fair The type of business was not explained fully, there was no reasoning for the choice, and it was not included in the business plan. Analysis Market, Industry, and Competition Analysis. Students researched these topics as presented in the overview and had them included in the business plan.
