Involvement	Excellent Student's singing is consistently audible. Student consistently displays a willingness to participate in the lesson. The student sings confidently.	Good Student starts out singing too softly, but improves after teacher correction. The student's singing volume is inconsistent.	Fair Student's singing is barely audible. The student lacks confidence in their singing.	Needs Improvement Student cannot be heard and/or student refuses to sing so they can be heard, even after correction. The student treats the situation in a joking mood.
Pitch	Excellent Student consistently sings the correct pitches with little teacher interference. Practically no errors.	Good Rarely has trouble with performing correct pitches. Very few errors within the music.	Fair Sometimes has trouble with performing correct pitches. Student requires significant teacher intereference.	Needs Improvement Usually has trouble with performing correct pitches. Student struggles to recognize the correct pitches in any given song.
Part -Singing Ability	Excellent Student is able to consistenly sing their part while another part is being sung. Although a few mistakes may exist, the student demonstrates strong development in their part-singing ability.	Good Student sings their part with some guidance and help from the teacher or another student.	Fair Student struggles singing their own part, but is able to do so in select parts of the song with some guidance.	Needs Improvement Student has not mastered the ability of singing their own independent part while another part is being sung simultaneously by someone else.
Rhythms	Excellent Never has rhythmic errors. Consistent while learning and in performance.	Good Usually maintains consistency in learning and performing rhythms.	Fair Sometimes maintains consistency in learning and performing rhythms.	Needs Improvement Has frequent rhythmic errors. Has trouble being consistent while learning and in performance.
Singing Posture	Excellent Always sits and stands using tall, proper alignment to produce the best possible sound.	Good Usually sits and stands using tall, proper alignment to produce the best possible sound.	Fair Sometimes sits and stands using tall, proper alignment to produce the best possible sound. Has trouble maintaining proper alignment.	Needs Improvement Rarely uses proper posture and alignment. Slouches while singing and is not consistent.
