Poet Research Project 
You will be conducting research about a chosen poet and three of his or her poems. This research will be presented in an informative speech including a well researched biography, the poems, and an PowerPoint presentation.

Good

Student conducted research through at least two sources; biography contains mostly original thoughts and less than 5 grammatical errors.
Poor

Student conducted research through one source only; biography is unoriginal and/or cut-and-pasted from sources. Sources are not cited.
PowerPoint Presentation

Student creates a visually pleasing presentation of the poems including interpretations where needed.

PowerPoint uses a mininum of two backgrounds and 15 slides. Detail is presented using bullet points and guidelines were strictly followed and contains all required elements.

Presentation contains on background or 12-14 slides and decorative detail; guidelines were generally followed and contains most required elements.

Less than 12 slides were presented. Studeent read presentation to the class rather than presenting material; too many or too few pictures were used in the presentatin; guidelines weren't followed or were followed incorrectly.
