Setting A Thermostatic Expansion Valve

Using the proper tools and equipment the student shall follow the directions in the TXV lab handout. The student will access an operating system with a TXV and take correct superheat readings. After which the student will make correct adjustments as directed.

Installation of Guages	Poor Installation incorrect. At some point stops for directions. Shows No competency and needs assistance.	Fair Installation is slow and halting. Calculation of Superheat	Poor After stabilizing unit troubled with procedure or math and cannot calculate the superheat without help.
