National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Rubric National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Rubric Students are eligible for induction into the National Junior Honor Society if they have a 88 or higher GPA. Students will be required to complete the student service/activity information form, and write an essay about how he/she exemplifies the core areas of NJHS, OR explaining why they want to be a part of the NJHS. Short Essay: The Vaue of a Leader	Poor Essay was poorly written, unorganized, and lacked 3 or more reasons exemplifying character traits/core areas.	Fair Essay was very broad, weak, and incomplete (lacking 3 examples).	Good Essay gives 3 strong examples of character traits/core areas but not exemplary in their presentation or reasoning.	Excellent Essay is concise with 3 or more exemplary examples of character traits/core areas. Examples are well-written, well presented, and completely thought out.
Teacher Recommendation Rubric	Poor Candidate Form only. No teacher recommendation or signature.	Fair Completed Candidate Form with Signature only. No teacher recommendation.	Good Completed Candidate Form and Teacher recommendation without signature	Excellent Completed Candidate From and Teacher recommendation/endorsement with signature.
