Uses multiple criteria to judge the artwork, such as composition, creativity, design, communication of ideas, successfulness of the image. Talks about what the artist was trying to communicate and gives clear reasons

Uses 1-2 criteria to judge the artwork. Tells whether the artwork is successful or not and talks about what the artist was trying to communicate but could be clearer
Moderate

Tries to use aesthetic criteria to judge artwork, but does not apply the criteria accurately. Does not explain whether or not the artwork is successful.
Poor

Evaluates work as good or bad based on personal taste. Doesn't comment on what the artist was trying to communicate. Does not explain whether or not the artwork is successful.
