Craftsmanship	Excellent Mask is physically strong. Student followed all techniques and procedure instructions. The mask may be used as a prime example of the project. There are no frayed edges and everything is smooth.	Very Good Mask is physically strong. The surface is mostly smooth. Student followed techniques and procedure instructions. There are no frayed or weak edges	Acceptable Mask is somewhat weak, but is holding together. The surface is not smooth. Student did somewhat follow techniques and procedure instructions. There are some frayed or weak edges	Poor Mask is physically weak and not holding together. Student did not follow any techniques and procedure instructions. The mask may be used as a prime example of how not to do the project. Edges are incomplete
Creativity and Aesthetics	Excellent Mask is exciting to view and aesthetically pleasing. It may be figured prominently in a display. The student's ideas are completely original.	Very Good Mask displays much creativity. The student's ideas are somewhat original.	Acceptable Mask displays some creativity, but the student's ideas are somewhat unoriginal.	Poor Mask displays no creativity. The student's ideas are completely unoriginal. The student's work is that of an uninspired person.
On Task and Behavior	Excellent The student is always on task in the studio, always follows the directions for the project the first time they are given, and always cleans up his/her work area in a timely fashion. Student used all of their class time to complete the work.	Very Good The student is usually on task, follows directions for the project, and usually cleans up his/her work area in a timely fashion. Student used all of their class time to complete the work, but may gave turned it in a day early or late.	Acceptable The student is frequently off task in the studio, may not follow directions, or delays cleanup. Student turned in the project more than a day early or late.	Poor The student is always off task, does not follow directions, or refuses to participate in the project fully. Student may misuse, waste or destroy art materials carelessly. Student may leave a mess. Student did not use time well.
Self Portrait	Excellent The student has connected their self portrait mask to an aspect of themselves with expressive originality. They were able to design and execute the self portrait to the best of their abilities.	Very Good The student has connected their self portrait mask to an aspect of themselves	Acceptable The student made the mask to somewhat look like themselves	Poor The student has not connected their self-portrait mask to an aspect of beauty.
