Structure

Excellent

Student used light pencil lines to create circles or ovals (side view), found an accurate midpoint to the circle and were able to symmetrically space tick marks along the circle's circumference for 4, 5 and 6 petal flowers.
Fair

Student used a somewhat heavy line to create slightly inaccurate circles and ovals. Mid point location was a little off, and tick marks along the circumference were slightly clustered.
Poor

Student used a very heavy pencil line (that could not be erased completely) to draw flower's structure. Circle or oval was very inaccurate. Mid point was off, and tick marks not symmetrical.
Detail

Excellent

From their pre-drawn structure, student was able to create an accurate depiction of a flower(s) based on the image(s) shown. Student had the correct number petals. Size and shape is depicted accurately and petals are spaced symmetrically. Elements of detail (shadowing, curling, and imperfections) are represented.
Fair

From their pre-drawn structure, student was able to create a somewhat accurate depiction of a flower(s) based on the image(s) shown. In most cases the correct number petals were represented. Size and shape is somewhat accurate. Spacing of petals is a little off. Elements of detail (shadowing, curling, and imperfections) are missing.
Poor

Student had difficulty creating an accurate depiction of a flower(s) based on the image(s) shown. In most cases the correct number petals were not represented. Size and shape is inaccurate. Spacing and proportion of petals is inconsistent.
Craftsmanship/ Effort

Excellent

Drawing is neat, clean, and complete. The artist has taken their time and has produced highly detailed representations. There are no tears, folds, smudges, bends, or unnecessary marks. High effort and concentration is evident.
Fair

Some effort was made to make the drawing neat, clean and complete. There are some inadequate and unfinished areas. Drawings are somewhat accurate and detailed. Some folds, tears, or undesired marks, but few overall.
Poor

Little effort and engagement shown. Many unnecessary marks , smudges, tears and bends. Drawing seems rushed. Very messy and incomplete. Did not follow directions.
