State Symbols Research Response 
Students will write a two paragraph (3-5 sentences per paragraph) response to research on state symbols. They can either write about their favorite state symbol and list facts about that symbol, or they can write about a symbol they feel should be a state symbol. The students need to give in-depth reasoning and support to the topic they choose.
