Research Paragraph

Students will research a particular topic following a set of questions. They will then write a 5-8 sentence paragraph that covers the details found in their research.

Topic sentence	Poor No topic sentence present. The reader is not clear about subject of the paragraph.	Fair Topic sentence is stated, but not clear. The reader has some idea of what the paragraph will be about.	Good Topic sentence is clearly stated and gives the reader an idea of what the paragraph will be about.
Paragraph	Poor Paragraph has no information from research.	Fair Paragraph has some information from research.	Good Paragraph has information from research and is well written.
Grammar and Structure	Poor Paragraph has less than 5 sentences. There are more than three grammar errors.	Fair Paragraph has the required number of paragraphs and has less than three grammar errors.	Good Paragraph has the required number of paragraphs and has no grammar errors.
Research	Poor Not all questions were answered	Fair Questions were answered with some detail.	Good Questions were answered with good detail.
