Fair Questions are written, but answers are vague and do not give much detail. There is some evidence from the story. There are a few errors in language.	Good Questions are written and answers are thoughtful, meaningful, and are specific with evidence from the story. There are very few errors in language.
Summary	Poor The summary is written and explains the chapter in the story, but there is little detail or evidence. Language is poor.	Fair The summary is written and explains the chapter in the story, but there is only some evidence or detail. Language is average.	Good The summary is written and explain the chapter in the story in detail and there is evidence. Language is at grade level or above.
Vocabulary	Poor Student did not use the dictionary to find definitions. Definitions were not correct.	Fair Student used the dictionary but only found 3-4 definitions.	Good Student found all definitions and completed the assignment as asked.
Illustration	Poor The student did not write a caption using a quotation as instructed.	Fair The student did write a caption using a quotation, but did not have the quotation written exactly correct.	Good The student wrote a caption correctly using quotations.
