Data Collection 4 pts -Student developed a clear question and accurately gathered data from classmates	Novice -Student has no data to show to reflect the graph created.	Apprentice --Student demonstrates difficulty in forming a survey question and/or was unable to gather necessary graph data from classmates.	Practitioner -Student developed a survey question and collected student data, yet may have been unclear in questioning or not accounted for individuals in their data collection.	Expert -Student developed clear/concise question and appropriately gathered data from all classmates using a tally chart or frequency chart.
Graph Representation 4 pts -Student's collected data is correctly reflected in their graph. -Graph includes all necessary elements (title, axis label, easy to read)	Novice -Student's graph does not reflect survey data -Graph is missing 2 or more important elements or another type of graph might have been displayed (i.e. line plot)	Apprentice -Bar Graph/Pictograph has been constructed, yet survey data may not be accurately reflected in graph or - 1-2 Elements of the graph (title, labels, key) may be missing	Practitioner Bar Graph/Pictograph is identical to the survey data collected. -Most elements are included such as title, axis labels, keys and categories are identified.	Expert - Bar Graph/Pictograph is identical to the survey data collected. -All elements are included such as title, axis labels and numbers and categories are identified.
Quality of Work/Understanding 4 pts -student demonstrates neatness in graph and care in designing graph (i.e. numbers are clear and organized)	Novice -Student requires additional guidance in developing a graph -Clarity and Understanding are not portrayed in student work.	Apprentice -Students graph and othe components are completed, yet certain elements may be hard to follow or read and minor errors may be present.	Practitioner -Students graph is easy to follow -Effort is clearly apparent.	Expert -Students graph is visually appealing and easy to follow. -Effort and mathematical knowledge is clearly apparent.
