NEEDS GUIDANCE Topic may be identified, but not key concepts. Most supporting information is missing. Or student indiscriminately lists information.	PROFICIENT Most key concepts are identified. Supporting information explains the concepts in a broad way. Demonstrates an ability to generalize information.	MASTERED All key concepts are identified. Supporting information creates an exact explanation of the concepts. Demonstrates an ability to synthesize information.
Organization pts Student organizes information from the reading selection in a logical format.	ATTEMPTED No evidence of organization attempted.	NEEDS GUIDANCE Organization is random or disconnected.
