Walking Stick 
Students are tasked with selecting a stick on a nature hike to turn into a walking stick perfect for them, based on disucsion and examples given in class. Sticks are to be cut to length, sanded, personalized, stained or painted and clear-coated.

Stick Selection

Evaluates whether the student selected a stick that was of the appropriate dimensions as described during in-class discussions and through examples shown. Correct length based on height and overall diameter and weight for comfort are considered.

Evaluates the level of attention a student put toward sanding and preparing their walking stick before painting or staining. Minimum of 320 grit sanding was the goal.
