Cupcake Wars Competition Judging Rubric Cupcake Wars Competition Judging Rubric Each contestant needs to present one of each type of cupcake to each judge (Mystery and Freestyle). They need to follow all requirements below. The total is out of 15 possible points. Combine students scores, combine teaches scores. The side with the highest score wins. If there is a tie, review your scoring and determine which team did better overall- as a whole. Then announce the winner. Use of Special Ingredient	Absent Did not use secret ingredient	Poor Used secret ingredient but not noticeable in the taste of cupcake.	Fair Used secret ingredient but overpowers cupcake flavor.	Good Used special ingredient and had the perfect balance. The ingredient enhances the flavor of the cupcake.
Flavor of cupcake	Absent Little or no flavor, not a good aftertaste.	Poor Cupcake has a good flavor but is over baked and dry.	Fair Good flavor.	Good Full of flavor, ingredients are well blended and moist- not dry.
Flavor of icing	Absent Little to no flavor.	Poor Icing is too runny or grainy.	Fair Pretty good flavor, looks alright on cupcake.	Good Full of flavor, ingredients well blended, smooth not grainy, good texture. Looks good on cupake.
Cupcake decorations	Absent No decorations, looks sloppy and unappealing.	Poor Very few decorations, the decorations are irrelevant and having nothing to do with the type of cupcake they created.	Fair Use of decorations enhance cupcakes appearance and flow well with the cupcake.	Good Decorations taste good, look good, and are very creative.
