Partially Proficient Author read their written piece, but was hard to hear or understand in author's circle.	Proficient Author read their written piece in author's circle and was easy to hear and understand.	Exceeds Standard Author used great expression when sharing their written piece in author's circle. They were also easy to hear and understand.
Audience	Unsatisfactory Writing piece has no sense of understanding of an audience.	Partially Proficient Writing piece has a small sense of audience, but goes in and out of being clear in reguards to staying on topic.	Proficient Writing piece has a sense of audience and flows well when listening to the writing piece.	Exceeds Standard Writing piece has a clear sense of audience and engages them throughout the entire written piece.
Handwriting	Unsatisfactory Handwriting is not readable.	Partially Proficient Handwriting on final copy is sloppy and makes the story very difficult to read.	Proficient Handwriting on final copy is easy to read and does not distract from the assignment.	Exceeds Standard Handwriting on final copy is perfectly clear and beautiful to look at. Great care was taken when writing the final copy of the assignment.
Creative Expression	Unsatisfactory Assignment does not show any creativity, or work was not origional work from the student.	Partially Proficient Assignment shows some creativity, but is not in final copy format.	Proficient Assignment shows creativity and is in final copy format.	Exceeds Standard Assignment shows extreme creativity and goes above and beyond expectations for assignment. Extra time was put into this final copy.
