	Basic 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Advanced 5 pts
Composition – there should be a primary element of design supporting the composition (rule of thirds/golden mean would be primary layout with an element such as rhythm, light, or directional lines) supporting overall layout	Basic BASIC Objects fill the page completely. The composition has been somewhat considered with some evidence of thought to supporting elements.	Proficient PROFICIENT The page is filled completely with some of the objects going off the page. Objects are arranged according to the rule of thirds, or golden mean. Evidence of supporting elements enhance the composition.	Advanced ADVANCED The composition is organized according to the rule of thirds or golden mean with a clear focal point, and is skillfully supported by elements of design that create a cohesive overall feel.
Personal Style Work demonstrates personal mark making style being developed by the artist.	Basic BASIC There is some consistency with mark making.	Proficient PROFICIENT Marks are consistent reflecting the personal style of the artist emerging.	Advanced ADVANCED Marks are very consistent, and confidently rendered reflecting intentional development of personal style.
