Developing Shows superficial understanding of the readings/viewings OR partially answers discussion prompts.	Unacceptable Shows little to no evidence of having done the readings/viewings.
Quality of Thought Demonstrated Quality of thought demonstrated in discussion.	Exemplary Analyzes, synthesizes or evaluates course materials and advances the discussion in a new direction.	Satisfactory Analyzes, synthesizes or evaluates course material deeply enough to advance the discussion.	Developing Repeats information from the course material, showing little thought about the ideas or perspectives.	Unacceptable Makes irrelevant, superficial, or disruptive comments OR none at all.
Quality of Feedback Quality of feedback to other students.	Exemplary Makes multiple (2 or more) high-quality comments on the contributions of other students; builds on contributions, asks questions about them, or tactfully critiques them.
