What can I learn about engineers?

What do engineers do? What kinds of engineers are there? How do you become an engineer? What kind of training do you need? Visit www.ionfuture.org and research to find out the answer to these questions. Present your findings in a PowerPoint or Powtoon Presentation. Be prepared to share your findings with the class.

Job Description	Poor One or two sentences are included about what an engineer does.	Fair The student provides a vague idea about what an engineer does- three to four sentences.	Good Students give a full and complete description about an engineers career- four to five sentences
Kinds of engineers	Poor One or two types of engineers are included.	Fair Three or four types of engineers are included.	Good Five or more types of engineers are included.
Becoming an engineer	Poor One or two sentences are included about the training need to become an engineer.	Fair Student tells about some skills and training needed in order to have a career as an engineer.	Good Student gives a full and complete description of skills and training needed in order to have a career as an engineer.
Format	Poor Presentation is less than 5 slides.	Fair Presentation includes 6-9 slides.	Good Presentation is 8 or more slides and the information is presented clearly using bullets. Graphics should also be included.
Presentation	Poor Presentation is unclear and the student is difficult to understand.	Fair Basic presentation skills demonstrated (eg. reading slides only).	Good Exemplary presentation (includes introduction of self to class, fully explains topic, uses an appropriately loud, clear voice, and allows the audience to ask questions).
