General Presentation Rubric

Rubric for evaluating student presentations. Can be applied to any presentation. Adopted from http://www.ncsu.edu/midlink/rub.pres.html

	Far Below Proficiency 1 pts	Below Proficiency 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Exceeds Proficiency 4 pts
Organization	Far Below Proficiency Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information.	Below Proficiency Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around.	Proficient Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow.	Exceeds Proficiency Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow.
Subject Knowledge	Far Below Proficiency Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.	Below Proficiency Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions.	Proficient Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate.	Exceeds Proficiency Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.
Graphics	Far Below Proficiency Student uses superfluous graphics or no graphics	Below Proficiency Student occasionally uses graphics that rarely support text and presentation.	Proficient Student's graphics relate to text and presentation.	Exceeds Proficiency Student's graphics explain and reinforce screen text and presentation.
Mechanics	Far Below Proficiency Student's presentation has more than five spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.	Below Proficiency Presentation has three to five misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Proficient Presentation has no more than two misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Exceeds Proficiency Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors.
Elocution	Far Below Proficiency Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for students in the back of class to hear.	Below Proficiency Student's voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces terms. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation.	Proficient Student's voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation.	Exceeds Proficiency Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation.
