Health 300 Class Participation Rubric

The purpose of this rubric is for the teacher to asses the students in various forms of class participation. Class participation is an essential part of the classroom and effort must be put forth by the student to in order to receive full participation points for the quarter.

	Excellent 5 pts	Average 3 pts	Poor 1 pts
Attendance/Punctuality	Excellent Student is consistently on time to class and has less than 2 absences.	Average Student is on time to class most of the time and has less than four absences.	Poor Student is regularly late to class and has six or more absences.
Homework	Excellent Student always turns homework in on time and is completed fully.	Average Student is on time with homework and completes the assignments fully most of the time.	Poor Student is never on time with homework and does not complete the homework on a regular basis.
Class Discussion	Excellent Student is always engaged in class discussions offering opinions and suggestions.	Average Student most of the time is engaged in class discussions and offering opinions and suggestions.	Poor Student is never engaged in class discussions and does not offer opinions and suggestions.
Class Materials	Excellent Student is always prepared by bringing their textbook, pen/pencil, notebook, and homework.	Average Student most of the time is prepared by bringing their textbook, pen/pencil, notebook, and homework.	Poor Student is never prepared for class by not bringing their textbook, pen/pencil, notebook, and homework.
