	Good 8 pts	Progressing 6 pts	Developing 4 pts
Beats	Good Student has the correct number of beats	Progressing	Developing Student has the incorrect number of beats.
Use of quarter rest	Good Student uses rests sparingly (no more than 6)	Progressing	Developing Student uses too many rests (7 or more).
Placement of half notes	Good Student puts all half notes on beat 1 or 3	Progressing Student places half notes correctly 70-90% of the time.	Developing Student places the half notes correctly less than 60% of the time or Student does not use any half notes.
Formation of rhythms	Good Student creates the rhythms correctly.	Progressing Student makes some mistakes in the formation of the rhythms	Developing Student makes many mistakes in the formation of the rhythms.
