Posture, recorder handling	Level 1 Inappropriate posture and/or wrong hand is used throughout and fingering is incorrect.	Level 2 Some inconsistencies in posture. Wrong hand may be used, but fingering is correct throughout.	Level 3 Correct handling and fingering, generally appropriate posture (sitting straight, feet flat on the floor, recorder held at 45 degree angle).	Level 4 Consistently correct handling and fingering, consistently appropriate posture (sitting straight, feet flat on the floor, recorder held at 45 degree angle).
Accuracy	Level 1 Rhythm is impossible to follow, no steady beat. Many errors in notes and note values render song largely unrecognizable. Articulation marks (e.g., slurs, ties, staccato, legato) ignored.	Level 2 Several errors in notes and note values. Skills need significant work, more consistent practice time is needed.
