How and why the students move around the stage.

Poor

Student just stood/sat the entire time.
Good

Student used movement but it was not fluid and there was no intention or purpose behind that movement. There were times where you could not see the student's face.
Excellent

Student's movement had intention behind it and it was fluid. There were no moments in which the student had their back to the audience. All student movement was motivated and purposeful.
Volume

The students can be heard clearly by the audience, but are not shouting inappropriately.

Poor

The student could not be heard at all.
Good

The student`s performance was audible but not consistently throughout the entire performance. There were times where the students were shouting when it was not necessary for them to be doing so.
Excellent

The student was audible for the entire performance.
Character & Commitment

Student demonstrates a knowledge of the character and makes an effort toward characterization and interpreting the lines.

Poor

Student was just him or herself. No attempt at characterization was made. No attempt at interpreting the lines was made.
Good

Student made an attempt to use his/her voice and posture to create a character. Student tried, with coaching, to interpret the lines. Students did not commit fully to their characters or to the show.
Excellent

Student was completely committed to his or her character. Student skillfully and purposefully used his/her voice and posture to enhance their characterization and create an enjoyable performance for the audience. Student was able to interpret the lines with little to no direction.
Voice

Student exhibits good diction and enunciation. Student is able to use vocal inflection to add emphasis to lines and to create a unique character. The pace at which the student performer speaks is neither too fast nor too slow for the character being portrayed.

Poor

Student has sloppy diction and enunciation. He or she makes no attempt to use vocal inflection to enhance character development or line delivery.
Good

Student's diction and enunciation is mostly crisp and clean. He or she makes some attempt to use vocal inflection to enhance character development.
Excellent

Student's diction and enunciaiton are very crisp and clean. He or she skillfully uses vocal inflections to enhance character development.
