This student is working towards incorporating both beat and rhythm into their small group composition. At times this student may find this aspect difficult, but is working towards improving their work

This student is feeling more confident in adding both beat and rhythm to their small group composition and is nearly at the "working at expected level" grade.
Good - working at expected level

This student is able to work with others in their group to incorporate their own beat and rhythm to their small group composition, without any mistakes for the duration of the short song.
Excellent -above expected level

This student shows excellent understanding of how beat and rhythm can be used in their small group composition and is able to assist other members of their group to succeed as well.
Composition uses vocal sounds

Working Towards 1

This student may be not feeling confident in using their voice to add extra dimension to their small group composition, however they are working towards this goal well.
Working towards - nearly there

This student, at times, uses their voice to add extra dimension to their small group composition and it shows that their confidence is growing. At times, they will stop their vocals if they feel uncomfortable.
Good - working at expected level

This student is feeling comfortable in using their voice as an extra dimension in their small group composition and is working at the expected level for this grade.
Excellent -above expected level

This student is extremely confident in using their voice, not only as an addition to rhythmic noises, but also for singing during their small group composition. They are able to help their group members grow their confidence as well by working as an unofficial "leader"
Composition stays in time

Working Towards 1

This student may have difficulty keeping his part of the group composition "in time". When this happens, there is a tendency to give up, however they are working on improving their tenacity in this area.
Working towards - nearly there

This student usually is able to keep their part in time, however every now and then their timing may go awry. When this happens, they are making the effort to stop and start again, in time.
Good - working at expected level

This student is working at the expected level and is able to play their part in the group composition, in time with the rest of their group.
Excellent -above expected level

This student has an excellent natural rhythmic ability and can not only keep their own part in time, is able to assist other group members to stay in time by using head motions to guide students who may be having trouble.
Students show good groupwork skills

Working Towards 1

This student is beginning to understand what is required for good group work - cooperation, letting everyone have their say and working well with others.
Working towards - nearly there

This student has moved on from beginning to understand what is required, to working with an understanding of group dynamics. Every now and then there may be behaviour that doesn't fit with positive group work, however this is not often.
Good - working at expected level

This student is working at the level. They have a good understanding of group work dynamics, they understand that cooperation is a vital element of group work, that it is important to let group members have their own input and that working well with others is a positive skill.
Excellent -above expected level

This student has excellent groupwork skills and is leaning towards a leadership role within their group. Not only are they able to work very well with their own groupwork skills, they also assist other students to improve on their own skills.
