Sight-Reading Excerpts Students will undergo continual formative assessment while performing accurately as individuals amongst the entire musical ensemble.
	Poor 0 pts	Fair 1 pts	Good 2 pts	Excellent 3 pts
Rhythm 25 % Students must each receive a rating of 80% or higher on the rhythmic portion of the point scale rubric to achieve success in the domain.	Poor There are numerous incorrect rhythms (0%-30% correct).	Fair There are several incorrect rhythms (30%-60% correct).	Good There are a limited number of incorrect rhythms (60%-90% correct).	Excellent The rhythm is performed accurately (100% correct).
Pitch/Solfege 25 % Students must each receive a rating of 80% or higher on the pitch portion of the point scale rubric to achieve success in the domain.	Poor There are numerous incorrect pitches and Solfege syllables (0%-30% correct).	Fair There are several wrong pitches and Solfege syllables (30%-60% correct).	Good There are a limited number of wrong pitches and Solfege syllables (60%-90% correct).	Excellent All notes and Solfege syllables are performed accurately (100% correct).
Tone Quality 25 % Students must each receive a rating of 80% or higher on the tone quality portion of the point scale rubric to achieve success in the domain.	Poor The student rarely performed with a quality sound (0%-30% correct).	Fair The student occasionally performed with a quality sound (30%-60% correct).	Good The student performed often with a quality sound (60%-90% correct).	Excellent The student performed with a quality sound throughout the entire excerpt (100% correct).
Fluidity 25 % Students must each receive a rating of 80% or higher on the fluidity portion of the point scale rubric to achieve success in the domain.	Poor There are numerous starts and stops throughout the exercise (0%-30% of the assessment is uninterrupted).	Fair There are several starts and stops throughout the exercise (30%-60% of the assessment is uninterrupted).	Good There are few starts and stops throughout the exercise in a fairly consistent tempo (30%-60% of the assessment is uninterrupted).	Excellent The exercise is performed in a consistent tempo with no breaks (100% of the assessment is uninterrupted).
